Windsurfing weblog
Well
This Sunday afternoon something unusual happened, because of the fires on the mountains of Viana do Castelo the two Canadair airplanes had to come to our windsurfing and kitsurfing spot to pick up water to take out the fire.
This is a video made by a guy that was on the beach watching….it´s scaring seeing the big bugs picking up that amount of water near you and making all that noise….the guys that fly these thing must have big balls!!!

Well
I´ve sold my big Board, the Fanatic Shark 130 L LTD.
Now I’m looking for a board to replace it. I know i want the Starboard Futura 122 L 2010, as i have a Futura 101 L and love it, the feel, the comfort, the ride….everything!!!
My dilemma is to decide between the Wood or Technora construction…..is it worth paying 200€ more for the wood construction??? I now it has a more beautiful graphics appeal but is it worth the extra cash just for the looks and 400g less of weight???
I need to decide soon as I need a big board to sail with my NP V6 7.0m and 8.0m in the summer breezes…
A photo of them both:
Hi

Another great windsurfing day…….I arrived at Cabedelo, Viana Do Castelo, around 12h00…….the wind was for a 6.0m sail but it was predicted to come up so i went for a snack and when i arrived at 13h00 the wind was already good for 5.0m sail.
So i rigged my NP 5.0m and picked my Starboard Futura 100 L and off to the water…….the wind kept going up but I never felt overpowered so no need to change sail…the only thing that I can pick with is the hard chop that was formed during the day………sometimes I wished i had a 80 L board to go through the choppy easier but that’s a thing for next year……..buy a Starboard Kode 80 or 86 L still haven’t decided…..
So after 4 hours blasting around i decided it was enough and go home back to my lovely family.
Here are some photos took by Manuel Novais (Thanks again):
Hi there
Í havent been posting lately because i´ve been working and windsurfing a lot without time to write a decent post…
I´m posting a video that i took this weekend using my Go Pro HD camera on my new Gath helmet…….it´s like first person windsurfing…….you can have a little of out it feels being on a board and blasting around with your mates…
On this day i was with my NP 5.0 sail and my Starboard Futura 101……my most used kit lately has it´s been blowing around 20 – 30 knots last weekends!!!!
All day long there was a lot of fog as you can see on the video and pictures i made.
What a year……with today i count 32 windsurfing days in the months since March until now as January and February where completely windless!!!
You can see my full windsurfing statistics for 2010 at: http://mmilhazes.windsurfing.pro/windsurf-statistics/
